Installation Guide Qt Creator for Windows

1. Download the Online-Installer

• get the free open source version at https://www.qt.io/download-open-source

2. Run the Installer

• you can just skip the Qt user account Sebastian from the future says: this is not possible anymore, a Qt Account is mandatory, now :-(

• decide, if you want to share your usage data

• choose an installation path without blank spaces or fancy characters (it could just work but might produce weird bugs)

• select a recent Qt version like 5.12.5 and check “MinGW 7.3.0 64 bit” and “Qt Charts”

• you can leave everything else as default

3. Make your life easier and set Qt Creator’s language to English

• in the menu bar: Tools -> Options … -> Environment

4. Use the Maintenance tool to change your installation

• the MaintenanceTool.exe is directly in the installation directory
